Man Charged After Stealing Car With Child Inside
A man who stole a car with a 10-year-old child still inside has appeared before a special sitting of Cavan District Court.
It is understood the 34-year-old allegedly stole an Opel Zafira from outside a business premises on Clones, Co Monaghan, on Sunday, 31 July. The child was already in the car when it was taken.
The child was found unharmed a short time later approximately five miles from where the car was stolen.
The man was further remanded into custody to appear in court again on Friday, 05 August.

Search For Man Who Stole Garda Car
A hunt has been launched for a man that stole a Garda vehicle before driving it over the border and alighting in South Armagh. Gardaí said they are searching for the man who was stopped by two gardaí driving near Lusk, Co Dublin, at around 9.30pm on Sunday night. He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and placed in the garda car.

Mother Could Face Child Neglect Charges
A mother from Dublin could face child neglect charges after leaving her two-year-old in a hot car for approximately 90 minutes. Gardai were called after shoppers seen the child in the car in Carrickmines. The car was surrounded by Gardai when the mother returned. The child was taken for a check-up before being returned to its mother.

Garda Child Abuse Images Accused Trial Delayed For Five Weeks
A delay of five weeks has been allowed for the completion of a book of evidence in the case of a Garda officer charged with possession of child abuse images. 53-year-old Joe O'Connor is accused of possession of 655 images of child abuse. The accusation dates between 30 July and 02 August 2011. O'Connor is stationed at a city-centre garda station.
