Search For Man Who Stole Garda Car

A hunt has been launched for a man that stole a Garda vehicle before driving it over the border and alighting in South Armagh.

Gardaí said they are searching for the man who was stopped by two gardaí driving near Lusk, Co Dublin, at around 9.30pm on Sunday night.

He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and placed in the garda car.

However, he managed to get into the driver's seat and steal the car.

He then drove it through the toll bridge outside Drogheda, 60km cross the border, before abandoning it in Co Armagh.

The PSNI is assisting with the investigation.

Gardaí say they believe they know the identity of the man and are confident of apprehending him.

Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. Two gardaí officers have received hospital treatment after their patrol car was involved in a collision. The patrol car collided with a car at around 11:00 on Thursday in Kilmallock in Co Limerick, according to a report by the Irish Independent.

Specially Adapted Car Stolen In Lucan Recovered
A specially adapted car stolen in Lucan, Dublin, on Monday 25 April, has been recovered. Gardaí issued an appeal for information on Tuesday after the black Audi A6 was stolen from the owners driveway. It is understood no damage was caused the car when garda recovered it. Garda thanked the public for their help.

Man Dies After Being Struck By Car
A man has died after he was struck by a car in Co Limerick. The incident happened at around 6.15am in the Gooig, Castleconnell area in Co Limerick. The pedestrian was fatally injured in the accident. The driver of the car was uninjured. Gardaí have said the road is currently closed to traffic. Diversions are in place.

Three Men Hit By Car Fleeing From Garda
Three men are being treated in hospital after being hit by a car which was being pursued by gardaí. Gardaí have said a Hyundai Accent struck three men, aged in their 70s, and crashed into two parked cars outside the pitch and putt course in Parteen, Co Clare, at about 17:00 on Thursday.
