Four Arrested In Connection With Armed Post Office Robbery

Four people have been arrested in connection with a post office robbery in Clogherhead, Co Louth, in May.

Three men, aged 30, 33 and 42, and a woman aged 23, were arrested in the Louth area this morning (Monday), in connection with the robbery on Tuesday, 03 May, 2016.

Three men, one in possession of a firearm, entered the Post Office, threatened staff and fled the scene with a large amount of cash.

The four are currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended at Balbriggan, Dundalk, Drogheda and Navan Garda Stations.

A number of premises were searched in the Drogheda District in connection with the investigation.

Woman Arrested Over Kerry Post Office Raid
A woman has been arrested in connection with an armed raid at a post office in Co Kerry. The suspect was arrested at around 5.30pm in Killarney on Thursday, 04 August. A sum of cash was stolen from Waterville Post Office at around 11am on Wednesday, 03 August. Two men were arrested in the area after the incident.

Teen Robbery Suspects Held In Limerick
Police officers in Limerick have arrested two teenagers in connection with attempted armed robberies in the city this morning. Two post offices in Garryowen and Clonlara were involved, but no money was taken in either of the raids. The thieves, one of whom was armed with a handgun, targeted the Garryowen post office at around 9.

Donegal Post Office Robbery Investigated
Gardaí in Co Donegal have launched an investigation after a post office in Ramelton was robbed. It is understood that the robbery was carried out by three men, who escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.
