Men Charged Over Armed Robbery in Lucan

Two men are to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin charged in connection with an armed robbery in Lucan on Monday, 21 March.

The men, aged in their late 20s and early 30s, were arrested on Tuesday following the robbery outside a supermarket at about 2pm in Balgaddy, Lucan.

The proceeds of the robbery and the firearm suspected to have been used in the incident were recovered during the arrests.

Off-Duty Garda Attacked With Samurai Sword
A court has heard how an off-duty garda was attacked with a samurai sword as he chased two men who had just robbed a shop. Detective Garda Shane Kelly saw the raiders flee from the scene and chased them in his personal car. When he cornered their vehicle near Lucan one of the raiders used the sword to smash the detective’s windscreen.

Firearm Found Following Cork Robbery
Gardai have discovered a firearm following a robbery at a house in Cork. The shotgun was found in a field near the home of a businessman at Gluntahaune during searches on Monday. Five men have been arrested and are currently being detained in custody. The weapon has been sent for forensic examination.

Three Men Arrested In Connection With Post Office Raid Released Without Charge
Three men arrested in connection with an attempted robbery of a Dublin post office have been released without charge. It is understood three masked suspects armed with knives, a crowbar and other implements entered the building on Leonard's Corner at around 12:30pm yesterday, 03 December.

Three Charged Over Cash-In-Transit Robbery
Two more people have been charged in connection with a cash-in-transit van in Dublin on Monday, Gardaí have confirmed. On Monday, three men fled a shopping centre in Raheny Village with a cash box. The cash box was later recovered by Gardaí and the men were arrested.

Four Charged In Connection With Post Office Robbery
Four people have appeared in court charged in connection with a post office robbery in Clogherhead, Co Louth. Three men, one armed with a firearm, entered a post office and threatened staff on 03 May. The suspects fled the scene with a large amount of cash.
