Three Charged Over Cash-In-Transit Robbery

Two more people have been charged in connection with a cash-in-transit van in Dublin on Monday, Gardaí have confirmed.

On Monday, three men fled a shopping centre in Raheny Village with a cash box. The cash box was later recovered by Gardaí and the men were arrested.

One of the men, aged 24, appeared in court on Tuesday charged in connection with the incident.

The other two men are due to appear in court today.

A 22-year-old man is due to appear in court this morning charged in connection with the seizure of a firearm in Ballymun on Monday, 13 July. Gardaí stopped a car at 17:00 on Monday on Carton Way, Ballymun, Dublin 11. Two men aged 25 and 22 were the sole occupants of this vehicle.

Two Charged Over Cork Assault
Two men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault on a businessman at a Cork industrial estate on Tuesday. A man returning to his business at Churchfield Industrial Estate at about 16:45 on Tuesday was approached by two men, who demanded money. Following a struggle, the 30-year-old man was left with serious injuries.

A police statement has been made on behalf of one of three men accused of the murder of Michaela McAreavey in Mauritius. Raj Theekoy, accused of conspiracy to murder, is said to have implicated two other men charged with murder.

Two For Court Over Kildare Heroin
Two men are due to appear in court today, charged in connection with the discovery of €2.4 million of heroin in Kildare yesterday. Around 12g of the drug was discovered after gardaí stopped and searched a number of cars off the Naas Road at Kill. Four men, three aged in their 20s and one aged 51, were arrested at the scene.
