Witness Appeal After 12-Year-Old Dies In Road Accident

Gardaí have appealed for information following a fatal road traffic accident on Friday 26 February.

A 12-year-old boy was fatally injured when the pony and trap he was travelling on was involved in a collision with a truck on St Cuthberts Rd, Clondalkin, at approximately 13:40pm.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin.

It is understood that two other boys were also travelling on the pony and trap but were uninjured and did not require hospital treatment.

Young Boy Dies In Farm Accident In Co Cork
Garda in Cork have reported the death of an 18-month-old boy in a farm accident. According to reports the boy is understood to have been struck by a tractor on the farm near the village of Killeagh, in east Cork. The accident happened at about midday, garda say. The death is being treated as a tragic accident.

Man Arrested Following Fatal Stabbing
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin on Monday. Shane O'Connor was found on the street in Donaghmede at around 7am. He later died in hospital. A man is his 20s is being held at Coolock garda station.

Garda Injured In Cork
A garda has been injured while on duty in Cork on Monday night. The sergeant has been treated in hospital but has been discharged. He was bringing a patient, aged in his 20s, to the Mercy University Hospital just after 6pm. The garda is based at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

Thirteen-Year-Old Held Over Dublin Shooting
A 50-year-old father of one has died from a gunshot wound in Dublin, and Gardaí have arrested a 13-year-old boy in connection with the incident. Gardai at Store Street in Dublin are investigating the fatal shooting, which occurred at Shelmalier Road Bargy Road, East Wall, Dublin at approximately 7.00pm yesterday evening.

Teen Freed In Limerick Shootings Case
A 14-year-old boy arrested in connection with a number of shooting incidents in Limerick has reportedly been released without charge. It is understood that the youth was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning and taken to Mayorstone Garda Station, but he was released that night.
