Dismembered Body Found In Suitcase Identified

The dismembered body of a man found inside a suitcase in the Grand Canal in Kildare has been named as Kenneth O'Brien (33).

Mr O'Brien's remains were discovered wrapped in plastic inside the suitcase on Saturday 16 January.

Garda renewed their appeal for the public's help.

They wish to speak to anyone who was in or around the Grand Canal near Ardclough on Friday 15 and early Saturday 16, to contact them.

In addition gardai are keen to speak to anyone who may have observed, seen or had any contact with Kenneth since the early hours of Friday morning when he left Lealand Road in Clondalkin or can assist in tracing his movements.

Gardai are again asking people returning to their property or premises after the weekend to check to see if there was anything unusual.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room at Leixlip Garda Station 01 666 7800.

Witnesses Sought To Suspected Hit-And-Run In Dublin
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a suspected hit-and-run in Dublin. A 24-year-old man was found injured on the road at Parnell Road and Clogher Road at approximately 5.55am on Sunday 18 February. Gardaí believe that the man may have been struck by a vehicle that failed to stop at the scene.

Separate Road Collisions Fatal
Two men, one of whom was an elderly pensioner, have been killed on Ireland's roads this weekend in two separate incidents. In the latest collision, a 26-year-old male was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a wall. He was taken by Ambulance to Mullingar Hospital where he later passed away.

Gardai Appeal Over Foetus Found In B&B
Gardai are appealing for information after a foetus was found at a B&B on Lower Gardiner Street last week. They believe it was a natural miscarriage and there is no criminal enquiry into the investigation.
