Cash Seized At Shannon Airport

Revenue officers have seized a quantity of cash at Shannon Airport.

It is understood the cash was seized from a Polish national at the airport on Monday.

The woman, in her twenties, was stopped and questioned by Revenue officers prior to boarding a flight to Wroclaw in Poland.

Officers seized the cash in accordance with proceeds of crime legislation and were granted a three month detention order by Judge Patrick Durcan at Kilrush District Court to facilitate further investigations.

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service have seized €85,000 following a stop and search of a 49-year-old British male as he was boarding a flight to Malaga. The discovery was made as a result of routine profiling. The cash was concealed in items of clothing in the man's suitcase.

Revenue Officers have seized cocaine, cash and cigarettes in a number of separate operations at Dublin Airport. On Sunday, 27 September, Revenue officers, with the assistance of detection dog Scooby, seized 5.7kgs of cocaine worth €400,000 from a 48-year-old Italian male who had arrived in on a flight from Dubai.

Cannabis Seized In Co Kildare
Gardaí in Co Kildare have seized cannabis worth an estimated €800,000. The find was made during a planned search of a house in Crossmorris on Monday. Officers seized 40kg of cannabis herb in the search. A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the find.
