Man Charged Following Robbery In Clontarf

A man has been charged in connection with a robbery in Clontarf earlier this week.

The 25-year-old is due to appear in court today, 10 December.

The incident happened at around 12.30pm on 8 December, when a suspect walked onto the driveway of a house on Malahide Road and assaulted a man in his 70s, before taking his car keys.

A passerby went to help the injured party and he was also then assaulted. He was also in his 70s.

The suspect left the scene in the injured man's car. Both males received treatment for their injuries.

A man aged 35, and another aged 45, have also been arrested in connection with the incident, gardaí said.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Man Killed In Road Crash In Waterford
A man has died in a road crash in Waterford. The collision, between a truck and a car, happened on the N25 just after Kilmacthomas at around 7.50am on Tuesday, 10 May. The man, aged in his late 20's, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck did not require medical attention.

Man Released Over Trinity College Car Incident
A man who was arrested in connection with an incident in which a car was driven through the campus of Trinity College Dublin and rammed into the front gates has been released without charge. The front gates of the university were rammed and several cars damaged when the 68-year-old drove through the campus yesterday.

Investigation Launched Following Suspicious Fire In Co Offaly
Gardai have launched an investigation following a suspicious fire at a house in Rhode, Co. Offaly on Monday. The incident occurred between 11.30pm on Sunday and 1.50am on Monday. A 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to St James Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.
