Immediate Action Needed To Address Housing Crisis - Doolan

The Environment Minister, Dublin City Council and homeless agencies are being called to urgently address the growing housing crisis in the city.

Sinn Féin Cllr Daithí Doolan made the call following reports that a homeless man was found dead on Westmoreland Street over the weekend.

Cllr Doolan said: "This death is a human tragedy that demands political solutions. Each homeless person who dies on our streets underpins the need for immediate action. We must all redouble our efforts to ensure this never happens again.

"This tragedy proves that the blame game clearly costs lives. That is unacceptable and must immediately stop.

"We must see immediate action on department of environment funding for homeless services and building of social housing."
