Kildare Council Seeking New Recycling Facility Site

Kildare County Council is looking for land suitable for a new recycling facility in the Celbridge, Leixlip and Maynooth area.

The council said that a site area of 1.5-2.5 hectares would be ideal. The facility must have good road access to both local and wider area users. Both freehold and long term leasehold options will be considered.

At this initial stage, informal enquiries are welcomed and interested persons should contact Brian O'Gorman, Environment Department, Level 4, Aras Chill Dara, on 045 980588 or by email on environ@kildarecoco.ie on or before 4.00pm on Friday, 28 August, 2015.

St Patrick's Athletic Reveals Plans For New 12,000-Seat Stadium
Football club St Patrick's Athletic has revealed plans to develop a new 12,000-seater stadium in Inchimore. The scheme would also include a new shopping complex and new houses. St Pat's said the stadium construction would be financially independent and not reliant on government funding.

Luas Operator Accused Of 'Discrimination'
Operators of the Luas service have been accused of discrimination following the news they will not extend the same late-night service to the Red Line as being offered by the Green Line. The Green Line service, which runs from St Stephen's Green to Sandyford and Bride's Glen, will run until 03:30am on certain nights over the Christmas period.

Dublin Waste Firm Told To Stop Using Farm Site
Three Dublin-based waste companies have been told by the Environmental Protection Agency to stop using a facility at a Co Kildare farm to dispose of residual black bin waste. Greyhound, Thorntons and Oxigen were using Cleary Composting near Monasterevin to dispose of so-called “organic fines” – the organic element of household black bins.
