Man Dies After Being Hit By A Car In Maynooth
A man has died after he was hit by a car while he was working on a road near Maynooth yesterday afternoon.
The Kildare council employee, 59, was struck at Graiguesallagh on the Maynooth to Rathcoffey road at around 3pm. He was working on the road at the time the incident happened.
The man was taken to Naas General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda forensic investogators and the Health and Safety Authority has been informed.
Garda are calling on witnesses to contact them on 01-6292380 or at any Garda station.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Accident

Man Killed In Collision In Maynooth, Co Kildare
A 38-year-old man has been killed in a single vehicle road traffic collision at Ladychapel, Maynooth, Co Kildare. The man was fatally injured when his 4x4 vehicle collided with a ditch at about 3.15pm on Monday. A female passenger in the vehicle remains in Naas General Hospital, but it is understood that she suffered minor injuries.

Garda have detained a man in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Mayo on Sunday, 08 May. A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a van on the N26 at Ballinahaglush at around 3.45pm. A man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.

The 60-year-old female driver is in a critical condition in Tallaght Hospital.
