Man Arrested Over Co Meath Shooting

A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Kells, Co Meath.

A 40-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident where a firearm was discharged at a house in the Archdeaconery area of Kells, Co Meath on Saturday, 08 August 2015. 

No one was injured in the incident. 

The man is due to appear before Trim District Court tomorrow morning, Tuesday, 11 August 2015 at 11am.

The man was arrested on Sunday and was detained at Kells Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended. He remains in Garda custody.

In a follow up search Gardaí recovered a firearm in the Carrick Street area of Kells.

Gardaí Appeal For Information On Fatal Co Meath Road Crash
Gardaí in Co Meath have reported the death of a 46-year-old man in a to-vehicle crash near Kells. It is understood that the man was driving a van that collided with a lorry at Johnsbrook on the N52 from Kells to Mullingar, at about 10:30 this morning. Emergency services pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Man Injured in Co Meath Shooting
A man has been injured in a shooting in County Meath. The attack happened at a house in Dowth, at approximately 9.45pm on Sunday. The victim was shot a number of times in the upper body and his leg. He is currently being treated at Our Lady of Lordes Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.
