Three Arrested In Irish Model Probe

Three arrests have now been made by gardaí investigating the death of top Irish model, Katy French.

A 32-year-old man and a woman, 28, were detained in Co Meath at around 9.00am on Wednesday morning and are being held in Garda stations in Navan and Kells for questioning.

A second man, in his twenties was also arrested shortly after 11am, and is currently being questioned in Trim Garda Station.

Ms French, aged 24, died on December 6 after being in a coma for five days in Our Lady's Hospital in Navan. She was brought to the hospital after collapsing at a house in Kilmessan, Co Meath.

A post-mortem examination revealed she suffered brain damage. Initial tests had also revealed she had cocaine in her system.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Customs Seize 120,000 Illegal Cigarettes
Cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €57,000 have been seized by customs officers at Cork Airport. Some 120,000 Marlboro cigarettes were discovered in 12 suitcases that had arrived on a flight from Wroclaw, Poland. Garda arrested two men, understood to be Polish nationals, in connection with the find.

Man Dies In Navan Garda Station
An investigation has been launched into the death of a man at Navan Garda Station in Co Meath on Thursday night. The 52-year-old, who was arrested yesterday for a public order offence, was found lying on the floor of a cell shortly after 10pm. The man was said to have been in an intoxicated state taken into custody for public order reasons.
