Father Questioned By Garda After Baby Found With Wet Wipes Lodged In Throat

A man in his late 30s has been arrested by gardaí investigating the death of his six-month-old son, who was found with baby wipes lodged in his throat.

According to a report by the Irish Independent, the man was arrested last week after garda sought the advice of three medical experts.

It is understood that suspicion was raised in the case by a pathologist, who expressed concern after the initial post-mortem.

The man was questioned by garda, and later released without charge.

The investigation is ongoing.

Man Arrested And Firearm Seized
A firearm has been seized and a man arrested in Crumlin, Dublin. According to gardaí, they were investigating reports of criminal damage at Rutland Grove when they witnessed a row break out between a number of men. The firearm was seized from one of the men involved in the row and he was subsequently arrested.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.
