Second Man Dies Following Portmarnock Workplace Accident

Gardaí have reported that a second man has died following a serious workplace accident in Portmarnock, Co Dublin, on Wednesday.

Stephen Harris (34), of Monasterboice Road, Crumlin, died this morning in Beaumont Hospital, two days after the accident which also claimed that life of his Alan.

According to reports the two men had been working on a sewage system.

The family of the late Mr. Harris have requested that their privacy be respected at this time of grief.

The investigations by An Garda Siochana and the Health and Safety Authority are continuing. The scene of the incident is still preserved for investigation purposes.

Investigation Launched Into Fatal Quarry Accident
Gardaí have launched an investigation into a fatal workplace accident in Co Mayo. It is understood a man in his 20s was fatally injured in an accident at about 10am this morning at a quarry in Kilkelly. The quarry has been sealed pending a forensic examination. Man Killed In Workplace Accident
An investigation has been launched after a man died following a workplace accident in County Limerick. The man, believed to be in his 60's, was killed when the cab of a truck he was working on fell on top of him on Wednesday night. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem is to be carried out.

Man And Woman Rescued From Island After Boating Accident
Rescuers have found two people alive and recovered the body of a third off the coast of west Cork. It is understood that that two men and a woman left Schull harbour on a yacht on Wednesday afternoon but failed to return later that evening as expected. An air and sea rescue operation was launched to search for the yacht.
