Man Arrested Following Firearm Seizure In Dublin

Gardaí from the DMR North Central Divisional Drug Unit have arrested a man following the seizure of a firearm, firearm components, ammunition and suspected stolen jewellery in Dublin.

The seizure was made following the planned search of a premises in Lucan on Wednesday 6 May at approximately 5.30pm.

The man is currently being detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.

Teen Arrested Following Firearm Seizure
A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí following the seizure of a firearm in Tallaght, Dublin. He was arrested on the Jobstown Road at approximately 12.40am on Tuesday morning. Gardaí were alerted after a man was seen holding a weapon. The male was chased on foot and gardaí disarmed and arrested him.

Firearm Found Following Cork Robbery
Gardai have discovered a firearm following a robbery at a house in Cork. The shotgun was found in a field near the home of a businessman at Gluntahaune during searches on Monday. Five men have been arrested and are currently being detained in custody. The weapon has been sent for forensic examination.

Two Held Following Drug Seizure
Two men are being held following the discovery of cannabis and amphetamines worth an estimated €140,000. Some €20,000 worth of cannabis and €120,000 of amphetamines were uncovered when a car was stopped and searched in Waterford. Gardaí say the search was part of an ongoing operation.

Woman Arrested Following Drugs And Firearm Seizure
A 26-year-old female has been arrested after a firearm and cannabis were seized at a house in Mahon, Cork, last night. The cannabis is believed to have an estimated street value of €30,000. The woman is currently being detained at the Bridewell Garda Station under Section 2 - Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Stolen Cash Box Recovered
A cash box stolen in an armed robbery in north Dublin on Thursday has been recovered, with the money still inside. A man, now believed to have been armed with an imitation firearm, forced a security guard to hand over the box in Clare Hall yesterday morning. No arrests have yet been made.
