Storage Unit Fire Burns For 24 Hours

A fire at a storage unit at Ballymount Industrial Estate on Dublin's southside has been extinguished around 24 hours after it started.

Emergency services were called to the Store It facility at about 10am on Wednesday morning.

According to reports "strong winds" had made the fire difficult to get under control, but it is understood that firefighters managed to contain the blaze to one and a half buildings at the estate.

Two units and a number of firefighters are to remain at the scene "dampening down" the building for the rest of the day.

There have been no reports of any injuries.
