Men Sought Over Attempted Armed Bank Robbery

Gardaí have appealed for information about an attempted armed robbery of a bank in Dunboyne, Co Meath on Tuesday morning.

It is understood that two masked men, believed to have been carrying firearms, entered a Bank of Ireland branch through its roof shortly after 9am.

They threatened staff and demanded a safe inside the bank to be opened. However, when the safe could not be accessed the men fled empty-handed.

It is thought they took off in a silver Hyundai car, which was found a short time later on Summerhill Road.

Anyone with any information relating to the attempted robbery is being urged to contact gardaí.

Tiger Robbery Suspects 'Still Held'
It has emerged today that two of the five men arrested for questioning over the robbery on the AIB in Clondalkin, west Dublin and in Kildare on Saturday are still being questioned. They are being quizzed in connection with the robbery of almost €300,000 and abduction of a bank manager's wife last Thursday.

Garda Appeal For Information Following Bank Robbery In Co Roscommon
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a bank robbery in Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Four men wearing balaclavas and gloves entered a bank on Church Street at about 2.15pm on Saturday, 21 April. One of the men was believed to have been armed with a handgun. The men threatened bank staff and demanded cash.

Garda Hunt Man Following Attempted Armed Robbery
Gardaí are searching for a man in connection with the attempted armed robbery of an Ulster Bank in Blackpool, County Cork. According to reports, a man entered the branch and produced a knife. He threatened staff with the knife and demanded cash. It is understood that a bank teller gave the man a special cash bundle containing a dye pack.
