Men Sought Over Attempted Armed Bank Robbery

Gardaí have appealed for information about an attempted armed robbery of a bank in Dunboyne, Co Meath on Tuesday morning.

It is understood that two masked men, believed to have been carrying firearms, entered a Bank of Ireland branch through its roof shortly after 9am.

They threatened staff and demanded a safe inside the bank to be opened. However, when the safe could not be accessed the men fled empty-handed.

It is thought they took off in a silver Hyundai car, which was found a short time later on Summerhill Road.

Anyone with any information relating to the attempted robbery is being urged to contact gardaí.
