Weather Warnings Issued For Strong Winds
Met Éireann has issued several weather warnings for strong winds across the country.
A 'Status Orange' warning has been issued for counties Donegal, Galway and Mayo. These areas will experience strong and gusty south to southwest winds at times.
Mean wind speeds will reach 55 to 75 km/hr with gusts of 85 to 100 km/hr. These will be strongest on exposed coasts and hills.
The warning was issued on the morning of 6 March and is valid until 21:00 on the evening of Saturday 7 March.
A 'Status Yellow' warning for counties Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Leitrim, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford has also been issued.
These areas will experience strong and gusty south to southwest winds at times. Mean wind speeds will reach 45 to 55 km/hr and gusts 65 to 85 km/hr and will be strongest in coastal areas.

Met Éireann has issued a yellow warning for gale force winds in coastal areas. The forecaster has warned small craft boats to avoid going the sea today as winds are expected to reach speeds of 55kmph into the afternoon. Cold temperatures and showers are expected throughout the day, with rain turning heavy in the evening.

Met Éireann Issue Yellow Warning For Wind And Rain
A yellow warning has been issued by Met Éireann for heavy rain and strong winds across most parts of Ireland from Friday evening until Sunday. The forecaster has predicted between 60 and 90mm of rain in coastal and mountainous areas. Temperatures will range between 15 to 18 degrees tomorrow, dropping to 13 to 15 degrees on Sunday.
