ESB To Recruit 300 New Apprentices

300 new apprentices are to be recruited over the next five years as part of a large-scale development and recruitment programme announced by ESB.

Under the new initiative, announced this morning at the ESB network training centre in Portlaoise, apprentices will complete 23 weeks of in-house training with ESB alongside some 42 weeks to be spent with Solas and the IT colleges.

More Than 2,500 ESB Customers Without Power
More than 2,500 ESB customers are without power following outages in the south east and south west. The company has said that some 1,700 customers in the Enniscorthy and Arklow areas have been affected, along with around 900 homes and businesses in the Killarney and Bandon regions.
