ESB International Wins Four New Contracts In Asia

ESB International has won four new contracts in Asia spanning Malaysia, Myanmar and the Philippines.

Commenting on the contract wins, Ollie Brogan, Managing Director at ESB International, said: "Asia is a major focus for ESB International and a big part of our growth plans for the coming years. From our direct experience as the engineering arm of Ireland's leading utility, ESB, we can assist companies to modernise, develop, plan and invest in their energy businesses."

As part of the wins, ESB International has been awarded its first contract in Myanmar. The International Finance Corporation (IFC), together with Yangon City Electricity Supply Board (YESB) has chosen ESB International to act as their Technical Advisor for the proposed corporatisation of YESB, the main electricity distribution company in the Yangon Region of Myanmar.

Working on behalf of IFC and YESB, ESB International will use its vast utility experience to support YESB to identify urgent investment needs as well as develop a roadmap for its future development. Consultancy advice on the required investment in the network to support reliable electricity supply and sharply rising electricity demands in the region will also be part of the scope of the project.
