Bomb Making Components Recovered In Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin requested the assistance of Army bomb experts after bomb making components were found.

According to garda the incident began at about 12:30 on Thursday afternoon when components where uncovered in the Broadstone area in Phibsboro.

The nearby Dublin Bus depot was closed while an army bomb disposal team examined the scene.

The team declared the components safe at about 13:30 and they were handed off to garda to assist in their investigation.

Viable IED Found Under Car In South Dublin
A viable explosive device has been found under a car in south Dublin. According to the Irish Independent, a viable IED (improvised explosive device) was found under a car in the Glenshane area of Jobstown in Tallaght, south Dublin. The Army Bomb Disposal Team were called at around 21:25 and a number of residents evacuated from their homes.

Residents Removed After Suspect Device Found
A number of residents from Dublin city centre had to be evacuated from their homes after a suspicious device was found. At around 11.40pm last night gardai were alerted of car windows being smashed on Forbes Lane. The device was found inside the car, and an army bomb disposal team was called. The device has been removed for technical examinations.

Man Charged With Petrol Bomb Attack On Killarney Garda Station
A man has been charged with arson in connection with a petrol bomb attack on Killarney Garda Station, the Irish Times have reported. At a special sitting of the Killorglin District Court, the unidentified man was granted bail on strict conditions, and will appear again on Thursday at Tralee District Court.

Major Security Alert In Dublin Following Discovery Of Suspicious Device
A security alert is ongoing in Dublin following the discovery of a suspicious device. According to reports, the area around Christ Church Cathedral in the city is closed off following the discovery. Roads around the cathedral have been closed while garda and Army Bomb experts investigate the device.

Cork Gardaí Station Evacuated After Pipe Bomb Handed In
Togher Gardaí Station in Cork city has been evacuated after a member of the public brought in a pipe bomb. An army bomb disposal team are on site and working to make the bomb safe. It is understood that a man handed in the pipe bomb after finding it at the rear of his house early this morning (Monday).
