Gardaí Appeal For Hit-And-Run Driver To Come Forward

Gardaí in Cork have appealed to the male driver and two female passengers of a silver BMW that failed to stopped after hitting a 12-year-old boy to come forward.

The child was hit as he crossed Thomas Davis Street in Blackpool last Wednesday night, but the car failed to stopped, continuing on into Cork city centre.

The child remains in Cork University Hospital, where he is said to be in a comfortable position.

Gardaí investigating the hit-and-run recovered a silver BMW, with Northern Irish plates, from the Shandon area of the city on Friday afternoon.

It is understood that a forensic examination was carried out on the car to identify the driver, but gardaí have no not revealed the results of the tests.

The occupants of the car, said to be a male driver and two female passengers, have been urged to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021-4558510.
