Emergency Department Reopened After Flooding

Letterkenny General Hospital's emergency department has reopened after flooding forced its closure for a number of hours on Tuesday night.

Heavy rainfall led to the flooding of a roadway and a car park at the emergency department.

The department reopened in the early hours of Wednesday morning and emergency services remain onsite in anticipation of more heavy rainfall.

An investigation into the flooding is underway.

In July 2013 a number of departments at the hospital were closed following widespread flooding.
