Interim Emergency Department To Accept Walk-Ins

The temporary emergency department, opened at Letterkenny General Hospital after flooding caused damage to the main department, is due to start accepting walk-in patients.

The hospital's main emergency department has been closed for three weeks following extensive flood damage, with all emergency cases being diverted to Derry, Sligo and Enniskillen.

A statement released by the hospital said that the interim emergency department would be accepting walk-in patients from midday today (Tuesday), but advised that non-emergency patients should not attend the hospital and continue to contact their GP.
