Teen Killed In Quad Bike Accident

A teenager has died in a quad bike accident in Co Limerick.

The incident happened on the R507 Oola to Doon Road at around 1.45pm on Tuesday.

It is thought the 17-year-old male lost control of the bike and collided with a tractor that was cutting hedges along the narrow road.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Mid Western Hospital in Limerick.

The driver of the tractor was not injured in the crash.

A technical examination of the scene was being carried out by investigators.

Father And Son Injured In Quad Bike Accident In Clare
An eight-year-old boy and his father have been injured in a quad bike accident. Both of them were hurt after the quad bike hit a wall just after 9pm on Thursday night. The incident happened on a local road in Ballinagoagh North. The boy was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital and is believed to be in a critical condition.

Teenager Critical After Quad Bike Accident
A 16-year-old boy involved in a quad bike accident on Tuesday afternoon has been described as in a critical condition, RTÉ have reported. It is understood that accident happened on a public road near the village of Newcastle, Co Tipperary, but the exact cause of what happened is not yet known.

Bike thefts in Ireland have increased by 227% in the last ten years, figures from An Garda Síochána have revealed. With more than 2,100 bikes stolen last year, according to a report by RTÉ, garda have launched a campaign to target the problem. Bikes are being left as bait, which are trackable if stolen.

Expansion Of Dublin Bike Scheme Gets Underway
The introduction of almost 1,000 new bicycles and 58 additional hire points begins today in the €35 million expansion of the Dublin Bike Scheme. New bike stations have been opened this morning at North Wall Quay in the Docklands and Deverell Place off Gardiner Street, and the jire station at Talbot Street have been extended.

Man Questioned Over Fatal Road Crash In Co Mayo
Garda have detained a man in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Mayo on Sunday, 08 May. A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a van on the N26 at Ballinahaglush at around 3.45pm. A man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.
