Appeal Issued Over Missing Kildare Woman

Garda in Co Kildare have appealed for help in trying to find 38-year-old Karen Stokes, who has been missing since Monday.

Ms Stokes is described as 5ft tall with brown hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen at about 13:00 on Monday leaving her home in Kilcock, Co Kildare.

Garda say that she may have been driving a green Seat Alhambra people carrier, with the registration number 02-MH-6447.

Anyone with information on her possible whereabouts is asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01-6667800 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111.

Public Appeal After Third Confirmed Case Of Measles In Ireland
The Public Health Agency (PHA) has announced that it has been made aware of a third confirmed case of measles in the Republic of Ireland. It is understood that the case was confirmed in a resident of Ireland who had arrived back in the country from Abu Dhabi on Saturday 9 March 2024.

PSNI Investigating Fatal Collision Near Bready, Co Tyrone
An investigation has been launched following a fatal road traffic collision near Bready, Co Tyrone. At around 1.40pm on Sunday, 07 April, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the Victoria Road. When police arrived it was discovered that a white Seat Leon had left the carriageway close to the junction with Grangefoyle Road.

Garda Injured In Cork
A garda has been injured while on duty in Cork on Monday night. The sergeant has been treated in hospital but has been discharged. He was bringing a patient, aged in his 20s, to the Mercy University Hospital just after 6pm. The garda is based at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

Body Of Kane McCormack Discovered In Field On Meath/Kildare Border
A man's body has discovered in a field on the Meath/Kildare border. Gardaí said the body of Kane McCormack, aged 24, was found in a field at Walterstown, Dunboyne on Saturday, 02 December. A post-mortem examination revealed Mr McCormack died from three gunshot wounds. It is believed his death is linked to the ongoing Hutch-Kinshasa gang feud.

Drugs Find Made During Murder Investigation
Ecstasy worth an estimated €50,000 has been uncovered in Ardclough, Kildare. It is understood that officers investigating the murder of Kenneth O'Brien – the man who's body was found dismembered and inside a suitcase in the Grand Canal – made the discovery. However, Garda added that the drugs are not connected to Mr O'Brien's death.
