Two Killed In Separate Road Collisions, Dublin

Two people have died in separate road collisions in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

A woman in her 20s, who was a passenger in the car, was killed after the vehicle hit a pole at Fairview at a round 1.50am.

The driver, 26, is currently in Beaumount Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

A man, 20, who was also in the car is in St James's Hospital where he is believed to be in a stable condition.

Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact the immediately.

In a separate collision, a man, 21, died in a single vehicle crash on the N81 Blessington Road at around 2.40am.

Four other men in the car where taken to hospital; however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardaí in Kerry have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road crash in Annascaul on Thursday evening. A 59-year-old woman, who was a passenger in a car, was killed in a collision with another vehicle at about 18:40.

Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Road Collision
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road accident in Dublin on Friday night. A woman, 40, died when she was hit by a car on the Davitt Road, which fled from the scene. The car, believed to be a Ford Focus, has not been found. Gardai believe the car would have been damaged at the front and the windscreen.

The Minister for Health will be given the power to stop suspended an institution if deemed to be operating the Act inappropriately.

Man Attacked In Dublin
A man is being treated in hospital after being stabbed in Dublin on Sunday night. The 29-year-old man was taken to the Beaumount Hospital following the attack which happened on Glin Road, Coolock. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Weekend Accidents Add To Road Death Toll
Road traffic accidents have claimed the lives of three people. A 77-year-old pedestrian struck by a bus on Sunday afternoon died in hospital. Yesterday, a 19-year-old man died following a crash on Saturday in Co. Kildare. The man was a bicyclist who was involved in a collision with a van at the front gates of Newbridge College.
