Toyota Call 700 Hybrid Cars In Ireland

Toyota have announced a global recall of some 1.9 million hybrid cars, affecting 700 cars in Ireland.

Customers will be contact directly by Toyota who say that the cars need to be returned for a software upgrade.

The fault is understood to cause the vehicle to slow down, eventually stopping altogether.

A statement from the company read: "In limited cases, the hybrid system might shut down and the vehicle will stop, perhaps while being driven."

It is understood that the fault may cause the vehicle to stop while being driven but the company have assured customers that any stoppage would not be sudden.
