Man Arrested After Gun And Ammo Found In Car
A 29-year-old man has been arrested following the discovery of a handgun and ammunition in a car on the Naas Road.
The Organised Crime Unit stopped a car on the N7 near Kill, Co Kildare during a planned operation.
A handgun and quantity of ammunition was recovered from the car and the driver arrested.
The driver is being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.

Man Killed In Co Mayo Crash
A man has been killed in a crash in Co Mayo. The incident happened shortly before 6pm on Tuesday at Newpark in Swinford when a car left the road. The 64-year-old male driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash while a female passenger received minor injuries.

Wicklow Roads Claim Victim
The driver of a car involved in a fatal accident last night in Co Wicklow has been arrested. A 41-year-old pedestrian died after the incident in Roundwood, Co Wicklow. The man was hit by a car while crossing the town's Main Street at around 9.30pm.

Man Arrested Over Cocaine And Ammunition Find
Gardaí in Co Louth have seized a quantity of cocaine and 9mm ammunition following the search of a car. Cocaine worth an estimated €50,000, and a small quantity of ammunition, was uncovered when garda searched the car at about 18:00 in Drogheda on Monday. Officers arrested a man in his 40s in connection with the find.
