Men Arrested In Connection With Drug Seizure

Gardaí in Co Donegal have seized drugs with an estimated street value of €115,000.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure, which included methylone, found during the search of a house in Bundoran at around 09:15.

A vehicle and mobile phones were also seized during the search.

The search was carried out as part of an operation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Ballyshannon area.

Gardaí say that the investigation is ongoing.

Ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of €150,000 have been recovered during a search by Gardaí in Co Limerick. The tablets were discovered at a house in Annagh, Murroe in Bruff, at about 19:00 on Saturday. Gardaí arrested two men at the scene.

200 Cannabis Plants Found In Co Kerry
Cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of €160,000, were discovered by gardai in Rathmore, Co Kerry, last night. Officers from the Kanturk Drug Unit carried out a planned search of a house near the town, uncovering some 200 plants at various stages of growth. The scene has been sealed and a technical examination is underway.

New Powers Allow For Roadside Drug Testing
The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross has announced the commencement of the drug driving provisions in the Road Traffic Act 2016. One of the key measures in the legislation provides for Preliminary Drug Testing, which will enable Gardaí to test motorists whom they suspect of driving under the influence of drugs at the roadside.
