€100k Of Cannabis Seized In Galway
Gardaí in the Galway Divisional Drug Unit assisted by Gardaí from Gort Garda Station have seized a quantity of cannabis thought to be worth €100,000 at a premises in Derrawee West, Derrybrian, County Galway, during a planned search on 8 October.
Gardaí seized 100 mature cannabis plants and approximately 1kg of cannabis herb.
Two men aged 40 and 21 years were arrested at the scene and detained at Galway Garda Station.
The 40-year-old man has been charged and will appear before Gort District Court on 24 October 2013.
The 21-year-old man has being released without charge and a file is being sent to the DPP.

Gardaí uncovered the drugs, along with a sum of cash, during a search of a property in Ballymote on Thursday evening, 16 January. Gardai have seized herbal cannabis following a raid on a house in Wexford. It is estimated to have a street value of €45,000. A number of plants were found during the search of a property in Lee Heights on Thursday. No arrests were made and investigations are continuing.

Gardaí in Co Kildare have seized cannabis worth an estimated €800,000. The find was made during a planned search of a house in Crossmorris on Monday. Officers seized 40kg of cannabis herb in the search. A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the find.

Cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 has been uncovered in a wooded area in Co Cavan. Gardaí confirmed they made the discovery on Tuesday at Drumgill. No one has been arrested in connection with the find, gardaí have said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
