Woman Released Over Fatal Hit-And-Run Collision

Gardaí investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision at Ardfarn, Bundoran, Co Donegal on Sunday 25 August 2013 have released without charge a woman in her 20s.

She was arrested on Thursday in Ballyshannon and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Ballyshannon Garda Station.

A Garda investigation began when the body of 48-year-old Alan McSherry was discovered on a road at Ardfarn, Bundoran.

PSNI Investigating Fatal Collision Near Bready, Co Tyrone
An investigation has been launched following a fatal road traffic collision near Bready, Co Tyrone. At around 1.40pm on Sunday, 07 April, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the Victoria Road. Gardaí in Co Donegal have arrested a man wanted in connection with a murder in Belfast. A man aged in his 40s was arrested in the South Donegal area on Wednesday at about 09:15. It is understood that he is wanted in connection with a PSNI investigation into the murder of a man on 24 October 2014.

Man Killed In Suspected Hit-And-Run In Co Fermanagh
A man has been arrested in connection with a suspect hit-and-run in Co Fermanagh. Patrick McCaffrey was killed on the Tullychurry Road at around 3am on Sunday. The man arrested has been taken to Ballyshannon Garda Station for questioning after he was detained by officers in Co Donegal.

Summit On Donegal Fire Cover Held
Concerns voiced last November over proposals to combine two Co Donegal fire stations as one centralised unit have this week been taken to Dublin. Ballyshannon and Bundoran councillors and local fire personnel have been increasingly concerned at moves to amalgamate both towns' fire services to one combined unit at Finner.

Young Man Dies After Sea Rescue Off Donegal Coast
A young man has died after he was recovered from the sea off the Donegal coast. The man, aged in his mid-20's, was found in the Ballyshannon Estuary on Sunday and rushed to Sligo University Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
