Testing Firm Fined Over Fatal 2006 Crash

A company has been fined €25,000 in connection with a bus crash that killed a 15-year-old boy in 2006.

Vehicle testing company O'Reilly Commercials Ltd was issued the fine after a judge found that they had failed to "ensure passengers were not exposed to safety risks."

The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court case followed an investigation into the 2006 crash, with killed Michael White and injured other students.

The crash happened near Clara, Co Offaly, on April 04, 2006.

Companies On Trial Over Fatal 2006 School Bus Crash
The trial has begun of two Irish companies in connection with a fatal school bus crash in 2006. 15-year-old Michael White died on April 4 when the bus he was riding in went out of control and crashed near Clara in Co Offaly on 4 April.

Govt Slammed Over Ongoing Housing Crisis
Sinn Féin has hit out at the government over the homeless crisis in Ireland. Deputy Michael Colreavy, Sinn Féin TD for Sligo/North Leitrim, said the government cannot just put a "band aid" over the issue and is calling for a initiative to be introduced to attempt to fix the ongoing problem.

Man Killed In Road Accident In Co Meath
A 31-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in Kilmore, Co Meath. The two car crash happened on the M4 westbound at approximately 1.25am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Naas General Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
