Man Injured During Cavan Collision
A man in his 60s has been seriously injured during a traffic collision in County Cavan.
Gardai in the county said they are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N3 at Lavey, Stradone at approximately 7.45pm on Wednesday.
During the incident, a male pedestrian in his 60’s was seriously injured when he was struck by a car and was taken to Cavan Regional Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road was closed for a time to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Man Dies In Galway Crash
A man has been killed in a road crash in Co. Galway. The two-car collision happened on the main Gort to Ennis Road near the Galway-Clare border around 7:30am this morning. The victim is understood to be the driver of one of the vehicles, while the driver of the other vehicle was also injured and has been taken to hospital.

The Garda has named the two people who were killed at the weekend in separate road accidents. The 27-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on Saturday was Barry Murphy of Anneville Crescent, Dundalk, Co. Louth. They are investigating the fatal road traffic collision at Beamore Road, Drogheda. It occurred at approx 3.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a car crash in Co Monaghan. The two-vehicle collision happened at 6:30pm on the N54 Monaghan to Clones Road in Aghalisk yesterday, 05 January. The 68-year-old victim was fatally injured in the crash and declared dead at the scene.
