Elderly Brothers Found Dead In Castlebar

Two elderly brothers have been found beaten to death at their home in Castlebar.

The bodies of the two pensioners were discovered at around 07:00 this morning at their home on New Antrim Street.

The deaths are being treated as suspicious.

It is reported that one body was found at the front door of the property and the second inside the house.

The scene has been sealed off pending a forensic examination.

Bodies Found At Dublin Home After Suspected Gas Leak
The bodies of a man and a woman have been discovered in a house in Dublin today. The remains, aged in their 60s, were found at Drumalee Court at approximately 1pm this afternoon. It is believed there may have been a gas leak. The bodies remain at the scene and a State pathologist has been notified.

Three Brothers Found Dead In Co Cork
Post-mortem examinations are to be carried out on the bodies of three brothers who have been found dead in Co Cork. According to Gardaí, nine-year-old twins Thomas and Paddy O'Driscoll were found at their home in Deerpark, Charleville, at around 5pm on Thursday. They were discovered with stab wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Mother Bled To Death While Kids Waited For Party
A 30-year-old Clonakilty woman bled to death while her two young children waited for her return so they could celebrate the eldest's ninth birthday. A court has heard that Rose Patterson lay bleeding to death in her estranged partner's flat as her daughters remained locked in their own home waiting for her return.

Bodies Of Missing Brothers Found In Fathers Crashed Car
The bodies of two brothers at the centre of a garda search have been found in the boot of their fathers crashed car in Co Mayo. The brothers, Ruairi Chada, ten, and his five-year-old brother Eoghan had been reported missing at around 01:30 on Monday morning.

Skull Found By Workmen Found To Be Human Remains
The State Pathologist has ruled that a skull found by workmen in Swords on Thursday is from a human. A preliminary examination has established that the skull is that of a human male. It is understood that a forensic anthropologist is being brought in to try and identify the deceased. Police are also checking missing persons files.
