Investigation Launched Into Alleged Rape By Garda
A criminal investigation has been launched into an allegation that a garda officer raped a woman, the Irish Independent has reported.
The officer, understood to be based in the north east, has been suspended from duty following the allegation, which allegedly took place at a house in Luacn, west Dublin on Saturday night.
According to the Irish Independent the woman claims she had returned to the house with another male and had consensual sex with him.
She awoke later when five men, all naked, came into the room.
She alleges she was raped by one of the men, and seriously sexually assaulted by another.
A full investigation has now been launched.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for information following the alleged rape of a woman in Dublin in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, 11 December. According to garda a woman went to a south Dublin garda station to report begin attacked sometime between midnight and 2am this morning.
