Investigation Launched Over Alleged Kidnapping In Co Louth

Gardaí in Co Louth are investigating reports that a man was forcibly kidnapped on Tuesday evening, 25 October.

It is understood witnesses reported seeing a silver Mercedes travelling towards the M1 at around 5.30pm on the Ardee Link Road when it was rammed from behind by a grey Toyota Avensis.

Three men are believed to have got out of the Avensis and removed a man from the Toyota before forcing him into their car and driving away at speed.

Gardaí in Ardee are appealling for anyone who was travelling on the Ardee Link Road between 5pm and 6pm yesterday to contact Gardaí at Ardee on 041 6853222, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

A 69-year-old man died in hospital following the collision on the Inner Relief Road in Dundalk at about 17:00, garda have reported. It is understood the man was driving a car that was involved in a collision with a bus.

Young Man killed In Hit And Run In Cork
A young man has been killed following a hit and run incident in County Cork. A 21-year-old male pedestrian was fatally injured after he was struck by a car at Pewterhole Cross, Kinsale. His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital.

Missing Children Safe In North
Four children who have been missing from their home in Ardee since Thursday have been found. The children, ranging in age from one to 12, are safe and well while a 30-year-old man and a woman have been arrested. It is understood the children were found by the PSNI in Newcastle, Co Down at around 1pm on Sunday.
