40-Year-Old Woman Found Guilty Of Husbands Murder

A woman has been found guilty of murdering her husband three and a half years ago.

40-year-old Tanya Doyle of Pairc Gleann Trasna, Aylesbury stabbed Paul Byrne more than 60 times on 4 September 2009.

While she admitted killing Mr Byrne, Doyle pleaded not guilty to his murder.

After deliberating for six hours and 19 minutes a jury at the Central Criminal Court returned a unanimous verdict of guilty on the murder charge.

Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan sentenced Tanya Doyle to the mandatory term of life in prison.

It is understood that while the couple had separated eight years earlier Doyle often came back to the house to stay over.
