Woman Remanded Over Dublin Murder

A 36-year-old woman has been remanded in custody at Dublin District Court, charged with the murder of her husband at a house in Tallaght at the weekend.

Paul Byrne, 48, was found at a house at Páirc Glenn Trasna in Aylesbury, shortly before 7:30pm on Friday. He had suffered a fatal stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His wife, Tanya Doyle, appeared before Dublin District Court this morning, where she was remanded in custody to reappear in court on September 14.

David Curran, 18, from Lissadel Green in Drimnagh, Dublin 12, was named after he recently turned 18 and is no longer protected as a juvenile. He stands trial for two counts of murder of Pawel Kalite and Marius Szwajkos.

Man Further Remanded Over Dublin Apartment Fire
A 29-year-old man charged with torching the home of his ex-girlfriend in Dublin last weekend has been remanded in custody for a further two weeks. Last Sunday night several occupants of the house on the South Circular Road were rescued by garda using a ladder.

Men Held Over Dublin Airport Cash Seizure
Revenue officers have seized more than €63,000 in two separate operations at Dublin Airport. Officers stopped and searched two Romanian men following routine profiling. The men were travelling separately; however, both were boarding the same early morning flight to Budapest at 6am on Monday, 15 May.

Actor Arrested At Dublin Airport
Cork-born actor Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was arrested at Dublin airport on Sunday afternoon. The 30-year-old actor was charged with being drunk and disorderly and with a breach of the peace, after he was not allowed to board a British Midland flight yesterday afternoon.
