Tree Cutter Finds Handguns Hidden In Paint Can
Four handguns have been discovered hidden inside an old paint can, after a man cutting trees became suspicious of the can found hidden in a ditch and reported it to garda.
It is understood the can was badly rusted and a grease-like liquid was oozing from the container.
The tree cutter reported the can to gardai who found two revolvers and two pistols were discovered carefully wrapped in grease-proof binding within the can.
The guns were removed from the scene in a townland outside Mitchelstown, Co Cork, for forensic analysis.

A man has been arrested in connection with the recovery of cannabis from farm machinery in Co Tipperary. The suspect, who is in his 50s, was arrested as part of ongoing intelligence-led investigation by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Serious Crime Task Force and the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service.

€10m Cannabis Seizure In Rosslare
Customs officers have made a multi-million euro drug seizure in Rosslare in Co Wexford. An estimated €10 million of secreted cannabis resin was found by officers in a hidden section of a truck that came into Rosslare port. Up to 1,450kg of the drug was recovered, which makes it the largest drug seizure so far this year.

Stabbing Victim Found Hidden In Wardrobe Wrapped In Plastic
A man is expected to be charged at Dublin District Court this morning with the murder of Christopher Jackson. The man was questioned over the weekend following the discovery of Mr Jacksons body on Saturday afternoon. The 53-year-old victim was stabbed 70 times before being wrapped in plastic and a duvet.
