Garda Raid 'Multi-Million Euro' Cannabis Growhouse
A multi-million euro cannabis cultivation operation has been discovered by garda in Co Cavan.
The expensively constructed factory was housed in a rented commercial warehouse outside Viginia in Co Cavan.
It is believed an Asian gang are behind the growhouse, which had the capability of producing thousands of cannabis plants over two-monthly cycles.
Gardaí raided the warehouse on Monday seizing plants with an estimated street value of up to €700,000.
Follow up operations are now underway with support being provided by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit.
They are focusing on suspected links between the Virginia warehouse and other cannabis growhouses in the region.

Four people have been arrested in connection in what is believed to be nearly 2,000 cannabis plants. A man in his 20's was arrested after around 800 cannabis plants were seized at a growhouse in the South Roscommon area.

A 34 year-old woman is due in court following the discovery of cannabis worth €75,000 in Athlone. The suspect is detained at Athlone Garda Station. She will appear before Athlone District Court today, Monday 20 January.

Cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 has been uncovered in a wooded area in Co Cavan. Gardaí confirmed they made the discovery on Tuesday at Drumgill. No one has been arrested in connection with the find, gardaí have said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Men Arrested Over Three Cannabis Seizures
Gardaí investigating three cannabis seizures in Co Offaly in the past week have arrested two men. Garda officers discovered cannabis plants worth an estimated €250,000 at a premises in Clonmore, Edenderry. This was followed by the seizure of cannabis plants worth an estimated €160,000 found in a vehicle near Tullamore on Thursday.
