Wallace Gives Up Demand To Rejoin Technical Group
Embattled Independent TD Mick Wallace has pulled back from his attempt to rejoin the Technical Group, after growing concerns his approach would "bust" their alliance.
Mr Wallace withdrew his demands after meeting with leading members of the group over the last few days.
It came as deputies slated Mr Wallace for his "arrogance" amid fears his approach would lead to the loose grouping of TDs splitting up entirely.
The group of Independents last night met again to discuss Mr Wallace's attempts to rejoin.
This followed meetings yesterday morning involving TDs Mr Wallace, Shane Ross, group whip Catherine Murphy, and chairman Finian McGrath.
Wallace left the group after being listed as a tax defaulter in June, owing €2.1m to the Revenue Commissioners in respect of a false declaration of his M&J Wallace construction company.

Ceann Comhairle Seán Barrett has written to the Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Members' Interests, Thomas Pringle, asking him to convene an inquiry into the controversy surrounding Wexford TD Mick Wallace's tax affairs.

Wallace Granted 15 Minutes In Front Of The Dail
TD Mick Wallace will be given 15 minutes to address the Dail over under-declaring his VAT returns. The Wexford Independent, who last week admitted he reached a €2.1m euro settlement with Revenue, will speak at around 5pm today.

PAC Issues Invite To Discuss NAMA Portfolio Claims
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is to invite NAMA to discuss recent claims made by Independent TD Mick Wallace. Speaking in the Dáil on 2 July, Mr Wallace made a number of allegations regarding the sale of a property portfolio in Northern Ireland, which he said was called 'Project Eagle'.
