Three Die In Roscommon House Fire

Three men have died in a house fire in Roscommon town.

Emergency services were called to a house in the St Ciaran's Park area at about 7.30am on Friday morning.

Investigating gardaí then discovered the three bodies in the front room of the house.

Superintendent Tom O'Connor from Roscommon Garda Station said it is too early to determine if the men died as a result of the fire, or otherwise.

The scene has been preserved, and the bodies remained on site, awaiting the arrival of the State Pathologist. A forensic examination will also take place before the bodies can be removed.

RTÉ have reported that a number of locals have said that the house had been vacant for some time, but a number of men had been using it on occasions in recent weeks.
