Man Arrested After Gardaí Car Rammed
A man has been arrested after a Garda car was rammed during a chase in Dublin last night.
Gardaí in Rathfarnham attempted to stop a car at Daltree Place, Ballycullen at about 10.15pm last night, a Garda spokesman said.
"During the course of this operation the Audi car rammed the Garda patrol car. The three occupants fled from the Audi and were pursued by gardaí."
A 25-year-old man was arrested a short time later and a firearm was recovered. He is currently detained at Rathfarmham Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
Investigations are continuing, the spokesman said.

Elderly Man Seriously Injured After Assault In Cork
An elderly man has been taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in an overnight attack in county Cork. The pensioner, a man in his 70s, received a punctured lung and other injuries when he was set upon in a car park in Sleaveen East in Macroom. A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and taken to Bandon Garda Station.

The UK-registered van was noticed travelling at speed on the motorway by a Dundalk garda traffic unit, which called for assistance.
