Army Bomb Disposal Team Make Viable IED Device Safe

An Army Bomb Disposal Team made safe a viable Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Phoenix Park, Dublin this morning.

The Defence Forces deployed the team to a wooded marshland area known as Quarry Lake last night following a request from An Garda Síochána but were unable to commence operations until first light this morning.

The viable IED was made safe in situ and the scene was declared safe at 10.40 am. The team returned to base and the component parts of the device have been handed over to the Gardai to assist in their investigation.

IED Made Safe In Dublin
A viable Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was made safe by an Army Bomb Disposal Team in Kilbarrack Co. Dublin this afternoon. The Defence Forces were deployed following a request from the Gardai. Gardai had cordoned off the area and local residents were evacuated to a safe location.

Grenade Found At House In Galway
More than 30 families were evacuated from their homesi n Galway last night after a device was found in the garden of a house. A viable World War II grenade was discovered at a property at approximately 10.30pm. An army disposal team made the device safe at around 1.30am.

Viable Explosive Device Made Safe In Cork
The Army Bomb Disposal Team have made safe a Viable Improvised Explosive Device found near a pub in Mayfield, Cork. Residents in nearby properties had to be evacuated during the overnight incident. The team rendered the device safe without the need for a controlled explosion and the scene was declared safe at 4.30am.

Viable Device In Dublin Made Safe
The Army Bomb Disposal Team has made safe a viable device in Dublin. The improvised explosive was found close to the Hollystown roundabout, on the Cappagh Road in Finglas, at approximately 11.45pm on Tuesday night. The area was sealed off for a period of time and the device has been taken for further examination.

Viable IED Found Under Car In South Dublin
A viable explosive device has been found under a car in south Dublin. According to the Irish Independent, a viable IED (improvised explosive device) was found under a car in the Glenshane area of Jobstown in Tallaght, south Dublin. The Army Bomb Disposal Team were called at around 21:25 and a number of residents evacuated from their homes.
