Bomb Thrown At House In South Dublin

Gardai have launched an investigation after an explosive device was thrown at a house in south Dublin.

The attack took place on the Clogher Road near Crumlin shortly before midnight on Tuesday.

The bomb partially exploded and caused some damage to the front of the house, but no one was injured.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal operators and the Defence Forces were called to the scene, which has been sealed off for a technical examination.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses who may have seen two men fleeing the area towards a nearby canal.

The bomb disposal team was later called to a home in Walkinstown where a separate viable improvised explosive device was made safe.
