Two Die In Two Days On Roads

Two men have died on Ireland's roads in two days, in Mayo and Limerick.

In the most recent incident, a man in his 20s died in a single-vehicle road crash in Co Mayo on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at Belcarra, about 10km outside of Castlebar, at 7am.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Mayo General Hospital for a post mortem.

The road is closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.

The incident follows another death on Tuesday when a 27-year-old man was killed in a road crash in Co Limerick.

The man died after his car hit a ditch at Ballysimon at around 9.40am. No other vehicles were involved.

His body was removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital.

The road was closed for a short time for a technical examination but has since re-opened.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information on the collision to Roxboro Road Garda Station on 061-214340 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.

Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash
A man has been killed in a collision in Galway. The car crash happened at around 2.45am this morning on the Headford to Galway Road. The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Crash In Co Galway
A man has died following a collision in Ballinsloe, Co Galway. The crash occurred just after 10.30pm on Tuesday at Clookeenkerrill. It is understood the man was killed after the vehicle crashed into a tree. A post-mortem examination is to be carried out. The road remains closed and diversions are in place.

Roads Claim More Lives
An investigation is under way into a fatal crash that happened in Co Donegal on Friday. Gardaí said an eight-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was struck by a van shortly after 5pm and was taken to Letterkenny where he later died. An 80-year-old man has also died when the van in which he was the sole occupant collided with a fence.

Sligo Road Accident Kills Two
The roads have claimed two more victims following a collision in Co Sligo. The crash happened at Moneygold at 8.20am on Tuesday, killing the man and seriously injuring the woman, who was taken to Sligo General Hospital where she later died. The N15 Sligo to Bundoran Road has been closed between Cliffony and Grange until further notice. Meanwhile.
