€600k Of Cannabis Discovered In Laois
Three men and a woman are being questioned following the discovery of a Cannabis growhouse in Laois and a suspected second growhouse in Kildare.
During a raid in Laois, Gardai found 1500 plants with an estimated street value of €600k.
The growhouse was discovered at a warehouse in a rural location at Kyletalesha outside Portlaoise. A sophisticated lighting and irrigation system was in place.
Two Irish men, a Vietnamese man and a woman are being questioned at Tullamore Garda Station.
It brings the number of cannabis cultivation sites discovered by gardaí so far this year to more than 350.
Meanwhile the walls of the second growhouse in Kildare had already been prepared, but the equipment had not been moved in.
The two crime scenes remain sealed off this morning as gardaí conclude their forensic examinations.
Officers from the Garda National Drugs unit were involved in the operation.

A suspected cannabis growhouse has been uncovered following a house fire in Co Tipperary. The discovery was made after the fire brigade and garda attended the scene of a fire at a house in the Rathnavogue area of Roscrea. A search of the house was carried out after the fire was extinguished.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
A man, aged in his 60s, has been arrested following a drugs seizure at a home in Celbridge, Kildare. A planned search was carried out at a property in Crodaun Forest Park in Celbridge, where gardaí discovered cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €62,000. The man was arrested at the scene.

Status Yellow Rainfall Warning Issued Across 11 Counties
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for rain across 11 counties. The warning, which came into effect at 7am this morning, is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The warning will remain in place until 6am tomorrow, when it will be reviewed.

Three Men Appear In Court Over Cork Cannabis Growhouse
Three of the new arrested on Tuesday in connection with a cannabis growhouse in Cork are due to appear on court today. The three are Chinese nationals and were arrested when gardai raided premises at Springfield Industrial Estate in Youghal on Monday night.
